Hi peeps!<\/p>\n

First of all, I wish you a Happy Geek Pride Day!! Hope you all are having fun today ^_^<\/p>\n

Well, recently, my boyfriend introduced me to a new cartoon, which I fell in love! I’m talking about The Adventure Time :D Oh my, it is so good!! I love all characters and also the\u00a0Brazilian dubbing is very good! Lumpy Space princess and Jake’s voice are so funny, hehe :)<\/p>\n

Well, usually, when I’m excited with a new series, cartoon, game or anything else, my fingers twitch with the urge to crochet anything related, lol. So, as I wanted to make a gift for my love and I don’t have much time at the moment (I have a lot of tests to study), I decided to do something simple and cute. The result it was a Jake keychain, which also works fine to hang on your car’s rear-view mirror. It’s mathematical! :D<\/p>\n

Materials:<\/p>\n

– Yellow Yarn;
\n– 4mm and 2.5mm crochet hooks;
\n– Fiberfill;
\n– Tapestry needle;
\n– Scissors
\n– Pliers;
\n– White paint
\n– Black felt;
\n– Paint-brush;
\n– Contact glue;
\n– Keychain or cord.<\/p>\n

Notes:<\/p>\n

– I always do my crochet works using continuous rounds;
\n– Everytime I will do a crochet work, the first thing I do is take a look in the entirely pattern before start doing it, so, I can have an idea of how the pattern works. Well, I recommend you to do the same;
\n– For sewing the pieces together you will use the tapestry needle;
\n– To make the eyes you will use the felt and the fabric paint;
\n– To make Jake’s body you will use the 4mm crochet hook, but for the rest of the pattern the 2.5mm hook.<\/p>\n

– Body (4mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
\nRound 2: inc (12)
\nRound 3: sc, inc (18)
\nRound 4-10: sc in each sc (18)
\nRound 11: sc, dec (12)
\nRound 12: dec (6)
\nFinish off.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– Mouth (2.5mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Round 1: 3 sc in MR (3)
\nRound 2-7: sc in each sc (3)
\nFinish off and leave a long tail for sewing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– Ears (2.5mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Row 1: ch 3, sc 2 (2)
\nFinish off and leave a long tail for sewing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– Hands and arms (2.5mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Round 1: 3 sc in MR (3)
\nRound 2: sc, dec (2)
\nFinish off. Leave a long tail, which will be his arm and it will be used to sew it to the body. After finished off, pass the yarn through the middle of his hand in order to centralize his arm.<\/p>\n

– Feet and legs (2.5mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Round 1: 3 sc in MR (3)
\nRound 2: sc in each sc (3)
\nFinish off. Leave a long tail, which will be his leg and it will be used to sew it to the body. After finished off, pass the yarn through the end of his foot in order to his foot and leg make a 90 degrees angle.<\/p>\n

– Tail (2.5mm crochet hook):<\/p>\n

Row 1: ch 2 (2)
\nFinish off and leave a long tail for sewing.<\/p>\n

Assembly:<\/p>\n

1. Sew his mouth to his body;<\/p>\n

2. Sew his arms to his body<\/p>\n

I. With the tapestry needle pass the yarn thorugh one hole between two scs:<\/p>\n

II. Tie a knot and hide the rest of yarn. After that, use some contact glue to fix the knot.<\/p>\n

4. Sew his tail to his body;<\/p>\n

6. Finally, it is time to make his nose and eyes :D<\/p>\n

I. Cut an oval shape from black felt to make jake’s nose. Then, glue it to his face.<\/p>\n

II. Now, to make his eyes, cut two circles of black felt:<\/p>\n

III. Paint the white circles of his eyes on it (use some images from the internet as reference) and then glue them with contact glue on his body:<\/p>\n
