Kettlebell pattern

Hey guys!

I know this isn’t the kind of amigurumi you are expecting here x) However as a friend asked me to make a Kettlebell and I’ve designed this simple pattern, I decided that I should share it with you even if it isn’t a geek themed amigurumi, hehe.

My next geek pattern is being designed and as I said before, I intend to make a WoW character. However, before I post this project, I think I will be posting some small patterns that I’m working at the moment, hehe. One of them is a 10cm Minion ^^.

Cya! :)

Materials:

– Black Yarn (I used Alfazema by Circulo, which is a Aran / 10 ply (8 wpi));
– White Yarn (I used Anne by Circulo, which is a Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi));
– 4mm and 1.75mm crochet hooks;
– Fiberfill;
– Tapestry needle and scissors;

Notes:

– I always do my crochet works using continuous rounds;
– Everytime I will do a crochet work, the first thing I do is take a look in the entirely pattern before start doing it, so, I can have an idea of how the pattern works. Well, I recommend you to do the same;
– For sewing the pieces together you will use the tapestry needle;

Update (06.06.2015): Hi Guys! I want to thank you all for being so kind and for all the kindly words you sent me by comments or email! Recently, I’m having a hard time to answer all the questions sent to my email and the comments. I’m sorry that I’m not able to answer your doubts. However, if you have any doubt, I’m sure that it is worth to leave a comment here, because even if I can’t answer you, I’m sure that someone in the community will try to help you out ^^

finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.

– Numbers:

To make the numbers I made a row of chains and then another row of single crochets. After that I fixed it in the shape of the desired number and sew it to the ball. I think I made about 22 chains.

That’s it ^^

  3. Thank you so much for sharing! I’m making one for my baby :)
    I was wondering how you got the handle to bend in that shape? Thank you!

  4. This is more geek than you know Us crocheting xfit freaks are just as obsessive bout these kind of things as a Trekkie at comiccon.

  5. Thanks for posting this. I’m making some for a Mommy and tots kettlebell class. The little ones want to do like their mommies. Now they can. I’m only charging a donation to a breast cancer fundraiser.
